Science Experiment & Presentation (Grade 4)

这里数学的教学明显简单，这一直是我耿耿于怀的，好在数学我可以在家教孩子，比如现在教女儿5年级的数学。我估计5年级的数学拿到国内也根本不值一提。不过，这里就是这么个套路，这到适合我家pp，目前为止，一点都没看出她在数学上有任何天分，也就能应付我的教学，在班里是矮子里的将军。如果放在国内，她死定了，哼哼！

 

其实，这里学校的一些教学安排的，我还是挺欣赏的，比如这周要完成的科学实验是和ORAL LANGUAGE 结合在一起的。首先，自己选择一个小试验，完成；然后，制作poster，提交lab report，然后在班上做presentation并完成Q&A。

 

lab report 必须完成以下几个方面:
a) Purpose/Objectives
b) A Hypothesis (a guess what will happen)
c) Materials List
d) Method/Procedure (describe your steps and use transition words)
e) Observations (include drawings/photos/diagrams, etc.)
f) Conclusion (explain what ended up happening)

这是最高分Level 4 的评分标准

-excellent job communicating
-developed and confident answers to the audience’s questions
-confidently explained parts of the experiment and the outcome

 

Student confidently and thoroughly used scientific inquiry in experiment.

 

-excellent understanding of concepts and procedures

 

-thoughtful and confident use of visual aids

 

能得level 4还不太容易呢。pp班里同学们的小实验五花八门的，有用白醋清洁硬币，有制作彩虹的。

 

pp选的小实验她起名叫做：float an egg。就是鸡蛋分别放在水里，盐水里，稀释盐水浓度观察鸡蛋漂浮状态。

 

 

实验很简单，不值一提，不过完成实验以及收集实验数据观察并记录实验的过程对孩子是个很好的训练，做presentation并完成Q&A更是很好的训练方法。全班20个不同的小实验做下来，孩子们会学到不少小知识小常识。

 

pp的poster制作得不错，我挺满意的，把实验和道理都说清楚了，文字配发了图片，poster排版和装饰也不错，呵呵。
