中英对照:Computers and softwares(Teachers and program) [复制链接]


Dear Customers,尊敬的客户们:

I’d like to start about by making an analogy. Teachers are like computers. Programs are like …… well, programs.
我现在对老师和课程作个分析对比,老师们就比喻成计算机,课程就是软件.

A good teacher is like a good computer in that they execute programs in an efficient manner. For instance, a good computer will have a fast processor and lots of memory just as a good teacher will be energetic, lively and focused on the lesson plan in the classroom. What many people don’t seem to realize is that having good programs to run on that computer is very important as well. No matter how good the computer is, it will never be able to do the things you want if it doesn’t have the right program. If you want to make a video game, then you shouldn’t use Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word is not the program one would use to accomplish that task. You need the right program for the task. You also need to be very clear as to what task you wish to accomplish before you sit down and use the software on a computer.
一个好的老师就像一台好的计算机,他们有效的运行程序,比如,一台好的计算机运作速度快,有很多内存,就象一个好的老师精力充沛,有活力的把课程运用到课堂中去,但是很多人确没有意识到,就象计算机在操作一个好的软件一样,其实老师是在教授一个好的课程,课程和软件是同样重要.不论一个再好的计算机,如果没有一个好的软件,计算机也不能做出优秀的工作.比如,你想做一个游戏软件,那么你肯定不会用WORD文档来编程.大家都知道WORD不是用来做游戏软件的.你需要对口的软件和好的软件来编制你的游戏.在坐在电脑面前你也知道你需要寻找用最好的软件用在你的电脑上来制作游戏.

In the classroom, the task should be communicating with other “little computers” so that those little computers will be able to perform functions on their own later. The teacher is simply the main computer that other computers are connected to for a short while. Information is being downloaded to them. How well that information can be used by those little computers later on is dependent on how well the program was downloaded and how well it was written to begin with. Also, the more information that was successfully downloaded to them, the more the other little computers will be able to perform more on their own after the download process has been completed.
在课堂上,这些任务就是我们要和我们的"小计算机"们交流,把软件输送到他们那里去.以后他们也可以可以熟练的运用这些软件.老师就象主机,把信息传送到其他的小计算机上,让他们下在他们所需要的信息.那些小计算机以后如何更好的使用这些信息依靠于最基本的来源于这个软件是否本身优秀与否.同时,他们下载的信息成功越多,那些小计算机以后他们就能自己更好的运用这些软件.

But teachers are not inanimate computers. They are alive. Some good teachers are also the “computer programmers”. In fact, the best teachers are also good programmers that are able to modify the programs as they execute them in the classroom. In other words, they execute self-writing programs that accomplish clear tasks that can meet the needs of the moment and overcome any “downloading errors” as they occur.
但老师不是一台机器,他们是活生生的.有些好的老师自身本来就是一个有好的"电脑软件",实际上最好的老师也是一个好的编程者,他们可以不断的改善和优化程序.用到课堂中去.换句话说他们根据需要修改和升级软件,一但碰到或番任何小的错误.

As a good teacher. We have good skills in the classroom. But that is not what makes us the best at what we do. In fact, there are many teachers that are energetic, organized, friendly, and know how to communicate well. What makes us better, though, is the fact that we know how to write a program that gets more and better results from my students. We have experience in writing programs that present a large volume of useful information in a clear and concise manner. We have a method of teaching that expands minds and improves knowledge at a rapid pace. Our programs produce results that are unmatched by other programs used in the market today. How do we know? Well, like any computer programmer, We test the programs We write and modify them until we see the results we are looking for. After many years of experience doing this, it’s no wonder that we do it so well now.
作为好的老师,我们在课堂上有好的技巧,做我们能尽量做得最好.实际上,很多老师在课堂上都是有组织性的,友好的,有活力的.并且知道如何很好的沟通.什么使我们显得更好呢?那就是我们我们的课程在学生身上取得了更好的效果.我们有有效的课程作为后盾,课程提供的信息让信息达到最大话的价值体现.我们的模式让知识得到更为广泛的扩展.我们的课程效果和很多地方不同.我们怎么知道这点的?就象计算机软件,我们测试软件,编写修改他们,直到达到我们所追求的最大效果.经过多年的实践,所以,为什么我们的课程是如此的有效.

Good teacher is a good “computer” and we am a good “programmer.” Once we’ve written a good program, do you think I’d want to only use it on this one computer? No, of course not! A good program is one that can be used on other computers that meet the minimum requirements. That’s why we have teachers at Watermelon Kids that are used to teach my program. We try to find good teachers, just as people usually try to use good computers. But it doesn’t matter whether or not the teachers are as good as programmer. It doesn’t matter that any one teacher is better in some way than another one.
好的老师就象好的计算机,我们有好的"软件",一旦我们有好的软件,你会认为我们就仅仅象把好的软件只用语一台计算机上了吗?显然不是,当然不是!一个好的软件应该是可以允许根据需求用在不同的计算机上,那就是为什么西瓜乐园不仅仅是只有一个老师来教我们的课程.我们尽我们的力来找最好的老师.就象人们想用最好的计算机一样.但是不是必须所有的老师都完全就必须和编程者一样好.好的老师各有千秋,没有完全一样的标准.
If our program is executed the way it was intended, the results will still be very good, just as you don’t need to be the software designer in order to use some particular software and you don’t need a specific computer either. Even people with limited knowledge can use Microsoft Windows, though they didn’t write the program and it can be used on many types of computers as well. Of course, the program designer would know the best ways to use the program, but others would still be able to use it to accomplish tasks it was designed for. You don’t need to be a programmer in order to execute a program. Likewise, any teacher that meets our minimum requirements can teach our program and the results will still be good.
如果按照我们的课程计划执行的话,不同的老师其效果同样会很好,就象你不需要软件的设计者来到你的电脑上使用你的软件,或者你不需要仅仅只用一台特殊的电脑来使用某个软件一样.甚至有一点点知识的人都会使用WINDOWS软件,虽然他们不是编程者,同时软件也可以用在多台电脑上,而不是只能用在一台电脑上.当然,编程者自身会更好的更清楚无误的使用他所编写的软件.但是其他人同样,专业的软件工作者同样可以使用其设计好的软件.你不需要一定要编程者来教你这个软件的使用.同样任何符合我们要求的老师就可以把我们的课程教得有效.

As good educator, we already have as much work as we can possibly handle. We find ourseves very much in demand. But we’d also like to share my program and allow other students to get good results. That’s why we’ve opened Watermelon Kids. Because of this, other teachers can also get results out of students that are comparable to my own.
作为教育工作者,我们已经尽我们的力做我们能做的事,我们对自己的要求本来就十分高了,但是,我们同样希望把我们的课程扩展给更多的小朋友让更多的人学习更有效有用的英语.这就是为什么我们开办西瓜乐园.因此,其他老师也可以做到.不仅仅是教材的编写者.

Our program is very unique and we’ve worked hard on it. It doesn’t depend on teachers with the very best skills in order to teach students many things.
我们花了很多心血在我们的课程上面,我们不是完全靠老师他们自己的技术来教孩子们东西.他们是按照我们提供的课程信息来教的.
It’s understandable that many people today are simply looking for good teachers to teach their kids.
现在很多人在寻求最好的老师给他们孩子学英语,这是完全可以理解的.
Some places don’t have great programs and that is why people tend to focus on the teachers instead. The program is also the invisible part.
有的地方没有很好的课程,因此只好完全聚焦依靠老师了.把课程完全分离了.
You don’t see it, but it is there. Some people don’t even know what to look for in a good program. Sometimes you may not even know what a good program is doing, but it still performs important tasks as it should in order to get the results the designer had in mind. When you see the results we get out of students, you should be thinking of how good the program is, not how good the teacher executing the program is. When you get a cool game or application for your computer, do you think about how good the computer is? No! You think about how good the software is and how hard the designers worked on it, and you are probably just happy your computer meets the minimum requirements of the program.
你们可能没有看到,但是事实是,很多人没有看到好的课程,有时候你完全没有意识到一个好的课程是在做什么和其带来的效果,但是,不论如何,好的课程是会带来好的效果的. 这就是为什么要花多年的时间去设置和实践好的课程.否则无意义.当你看到我们的孩子取得了很大的进步,你应该想到的是我们有多么好的课程设置,而不是多么好的一个老师而完全忽视我们的课程.当你得到一个很好的游戏,非常好的游戏用在你的电脑上的时候,你是否第一个反映是你的电脑是多么的好来玩这个游戏,而不是编写游戏软件程序那么好呢?当然不会!你会感谢软件设计者花了时间和工作来设计了个好的游戏软件给你,而不是感谢你的电脑可以用这个软件.而你最多是高兴这个电脑可以最小的满足你这个游戏软件的需求.

You wouldn’t look at a new computer and think it can automatically do what you want, would you? You also need the software! No matter how good the computer is, you still need the program to run on it. Why would you look for a good computer but then run inferior programs on it? Yet that is what many people are doing these days when they search for classes.
当你看到个新电脑的时候,你不会想自然的想到光个电脑就可以做很多事情了,就够了,会吗?你需要软件!不管再好的计算机,你还是需要软件来运行这台计算机.你需要买台电脑,,不需要宽带连接软件然后就直接上网了吗,你会这么认为吗?但是这就是很多人现在恰恰在我们的课堂上所认为的.

Many people today are shopping for “computers” without considering the programs. They don’t understand how a good program should work or how important it really is. They focus on what they see, -- the teachers. They don’t know how to make a good program for themselves, so they find it hard to recognize when they do find a good program. We are here to explain to you that that is what we have and it is what we are offering.
很多人现在买"电脑"时候不考虑"软件",他们不了解一个好的课程是多么的重要和好带来好的效果.他们只聚焦他们眼睛看得到的实体--老师,他们不知道一个好的课程让老师看上去更好,他们从老师身上看不到好的课程体现.我们现在在这里解释我们所有的东西和我们所提供的东西.
By using this analogy, I hope to make it clearer to you that, while the teacher is important (as both a computer and programmer), the teacher is not the most important aspect of a good class.
经过分析,我希望你们能更能明白,当老师十分重要的同时(就象有个电脑很重要),课程同样是非常重要的.并不是老师自身就能超越一个好的课程的.
